Carbomer is a cross-linked acrylic polymer that swells in water. When a small amount of neutralizing agents (such as neutralizer 1 and neutralizer 2) are added, it forms a highly transparent gel. Different types of carbomer represent different viscosities, known as short rheology or long rheology. For example, Carbomer 940 has short rheological properties, achieving a viscosity of 63000 MPA.S at 0.5%, suitable for products with high viscosity. Carbomer 941 has long rheological properties, achieving a viscosity of 7500 MPA.S at 0.5%, suitable for low-viscosity products. Carbomer corresponds to models with ion-sensitive and ion-resistant properties, used in daily chemical industry products.
