GITR (glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor), also known as AITR or TNFRSF18, is a new member of the TNFR superfamily and plays a role in immune regulation.

When effector T cells are activated, there will be a temporary upregulation of GITR. When the GITR signal is triggered, the inhibitory effect mediated by TGFβ-1 can be abolished.
