Common problems of tripotassium EDTA in blood collection tube

Common problems of tripotassium EDTA in blood collection tube

1. What is the coagulation mechanism of EDTA K3? Answer: EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) and its salt is an amino polycarboxylic acid (salt). EDTA salt chelates calcium ions or other divalent ions in blood samples, blocking these ions from acting as a cofactor for thrombin, blocking and terminating the endogenous or exogenous coagulation process, thereby preventing blood specimens from clotting.

Carbomer's demand increases or will continue until 2021

Carbomer's demand increases or will continue until 2021

Carbomer, as a high molecular polymer of acrylic acid, is widely used in daily chemical products. In addition to disinfecting hand sanitizer, it is used in creams, lotions, bathing and shampoo products. The three main functions of carbomer are ——Thickening, suspending and stabilizing. Due to its special molecular structure, it can absorb 400 to 500 times its own weight of water. As the polymer swells, the viscosity of the system increases, and the liquid can be turned into a gel, which can achieve thickening, suspension and stability. These special and excellent performances make it difficult for Carbomer to have substitutes.

Agarose gel electrophoresis kit with high electrophoresis efficiency

Agarose gel electrophoresis kit with high electrophoresis efficiency

In the process of nucleic acid extraction, agarose gel electrophoresis is a commonly used separation and detection method. Agar is the most commonly used carrier support. Nucleic acid molecules have a charge effect and molecular sieve effect. This feature can be used for separation and detection. Natural agar (agar) is a kind of polysaccharide, mainly composed of agarose (agarose, about 80%) and agar gum (agaropectin). Agarose is a neutral substance composed of galactose and its derivatives, without charge, and agar gel is a strong acidic polysaccharide containing sulfate and carboxyl groups. Because these groups are charged, they can be produced under the action of an electric field. The strong electroosmosis phenomenon, combined with sulfate can interact with certain proteins and affect the electrophoresis speed and separation effect.
