Novel coronavirus pneumonia has a sudden clap of thunder in the middle of the year. And it is very likely to talk about the end of the year. Nucleic acid detection has become a hot topic. After a month of zero growth, the new epidemic of Wuhan's disease has occurred on 5.9 days. On the 5.12 day, the Wuhan municipal government has decided to make a major decision on the nucleic acid detection in the city within 10 days. Therefore, this major decision must bring unprecedented pressure to the medical staff, not only to complete the task with high quality and quantity, but also to pay special attention to their own safety. Then how can samples from more than 10 million people in Wuhan be transported safely and efficiently? The answer is viru transport media.

First of all, let's understand the characteristics of the virus. The virus consists of a kind of nucleic acid molecule and protein or only protein. The individual is small and the structure is simple. The common epidemic infectious diseases are usually RNA viruses, such as influenza virus, HIV, influenza A virus. Because there is no cell structure, the virus itself cannot replicate, but invades the gene into the host cell, and replicates the new virus with the help of the latter replication system. The new coronavirus we call is also RNA virus. The first coronavirus was isolated from chicken in 1937 and the first human coronavirus was isolated in 1965. Because the morphology of coronavirus was observed under the electron microscope, it was named as coronavirus. The novel coronavirus is not an independent organism, and it needs to invade the living cells. It can reproduce and release more progeny virus particles by using the energy and material and molecular encoding functions of living cells.

Viru transport media (inactivated type) can inactivate and preserve respiratory pathogens quickly by using high concentration guanidine salt, which makes the samples lose infectivity. The inactivated samples can be matched with a variety of virus DNA/RNA extraction kits, M32/M96 nucleic acid extractor for rapid extraction of nucleic acid, and the respiratory pathogen PCR detection kit for rapid detection. The specificity sensitivity is not affected.

The inactivated viru transport media has the following advantages:

1. The operation is simple without liquid preparation, and the system contains highly efficient virus lysate, which can inactivate the virus immediately after sampling, effectively preventing the risk of secondary infection.

2. It contains RNase inhibitor, which can protect the stability of viral nucleic acid and improve the efficiency of nucleic acid extraction.

3. The product can be stored at normal temperature for 12 months before sampling and for one week after sampling. The product has good airtightness, convenient storage and transportation, and saves transportation cost.

In addition to the above inactivated virus transport media, there are also activated virus transport media, containing Hanks liquid base, gentamicin, fungal antibiotics, BSA (V), cryoprotectants, biological buffers and amino acids. The combination of multiple antibiotics has the effect of anti bacteria and anti fungus; BSA, as a protein stabilizer, can form a protective film on the protein shell of the virus, making it difficult to decompose and ensuring the integrity of the virus; the neutral environment constructed by Hanks buffer helps to increase the survival time and infection stability of the virus. The activated viru transport media is usually used for the collection and transportation of clinical influenza, avian influenza (such as h7n9), hand foot mouth disease, measles and mycoplasma, Ureaplasma and chlamydia. The advantages of activated viru transport media are higher detection rate and less missed diagnosis. The disadvantages are infectivity. Improper operation will cause health hazards to laboratory personnel.

Desheng's viru transport media has both inactivated and activated types, which can meet the different needs of different organizations for viru transport media. It is usually packaged in 1L/ bottle and 5L/barrel. If other specifications are required, it can also be customized.
