Heparin sodium anticoagulant tube refers to a vacuum blood collection tube with heparin sodium as an anticoagulant. Serum separating gel is usually added in the tube to isolate blood cells and plasma after centrifugation. The preservation of heparin sodium anticoagulation tube is mainly related to heparin and blood itself, and has nothing to do with the physiologically inert separating gel.

Sodium heparin anticoagulation tubes currently on the market are usually sprayed with sodium heparin solution and sealed with a cap. The shelf life is usually 2 years. It can be stored at room temperature and protected from light. Heparin sodium is an organic substance, which can provide a carbon source for microorganisms. It is necessary to ensure sterility during the tube manufacturing process and sterilize after assembly.

Preservation method of heparin sodium anticoagulation tube

Heparin is a kind of mucopolysaccharide sulfate which is composed of various glucose derivatives alternately, which has anticoagulant effect. After heparin is formulated into a solution, it should not be stored for a long time in an open environment, and it is usually prepared for immediate use. However, after the heparin solution is sprayed into the blood collection tube, the blood collection tube is sterilized and irradiated and strictly sealed, so that heparin is not easy to deteriorate. Therefore, the unsampled heparin tube can be stored in a cool, dry, sealed, and dark condition.

After the blood is collected, because the purpose of the heparin tube is to prevent the collected blood sample from clotting, it is necessary to ensure that the blood does not clot during storage. It is generally recommended that the heparin sodium anticoagulation tube should not be stored for a long time after blood collection, and the test should be performed within 2 hours after centrifugation, and the test should be completed within 6 hours at the latest.

If the test cannot be performed in a limited time due to special circumstances, the heparin sodium tube should be collected in advance and stored in the refrigerator at 4℃ to ensure that the test is performed within 24 hours. The above storage conditions must ensure that the heparin tube is well sealed, and there is no turbidity or foreign matter.

Compared with the EDTA anticoagulant tube, the heparin sodium anticoagulant tube is slightly more likely to grow bacteria. It is prohibited to use it when there is a foreign body or color in the tube. Desheng has many years of experience in blood collection tube anticoagulants. The anticoagulants and serum separators produced by heparin sodium, lithium heparin, dipotassium EDTA, sodium citrate, etc. have been widely recognized by customers at home and abroad.
