Acridine esters or acridine sulfonamide compounds are direct luminescence chemical agents, which can emit light in a dilute alkaline solution with H2O2, and do not require catalysts or enhancers. Acridinium ester has the advantages of high luminous efficiency, strong luminous intensity, rapid response, low background luminescence, and high signal-to-noise ratio. In terms of disadvantages, acridinium ester is unstable in buffer and easy to hydrolyze. Nevertheless, acridinium esters are currently one of the most widely used chemiluminescent markers, which are widely used in sensitive detection and diagnosis of various types of diseases, and are also widely used in the separation and detection of amino-containing compounds such as proteins, nucleic acids, and peptides.
