Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1), a secreted glycoprotein, is a member of the DKKs (Dickkopfs) family with a molecular weight of about 29 kDa, and its expression is regulated by genes such as p53, MYCN, and β-catenin.
DKK-1 plays a negative regulatory role in the Wnt pathway by binding to cell surface receptors LRP5/6 and Kremen1/2, and its ectopic expression in cells can inhibit the proliferation of a variety of tumor cells.
